Northern Nevada Spring Football League
2026 NNSFL Tackle Rules
Official rulebook for Spring 2026. Unlimited weight (no X-man rules). Clear responsibilities, minimum officiating, and enforced discipline to keep tackle structured and safe.
Eligibility
- Age Cutoff: August 1, 2025
- Divisions: 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U
- Weight: Unlimited weight (no X-man rules)
Standard: rostered/certified athletes only. If it’s not verified, it’s not playing.
Game Administration
- Home team provides: safe/regulation field, officials (minimum required), EMT/First Responder onsite
- Away team provides: chain gang
No EMT = no kickoff. Not negotiable.
Officials Requirement
- 14U & 12U: minimum 3 officials to start (4 standard)
- 10U & 8U: minimum 2 officials to start (3 standard)
- Grace period: 10 minutes before forfeit
Scoring & PAT
- Touchdown: 6
- Safety: 2
- Field Goal: 3
PAT: Standard = Kick 2 / Run-Pass 1 • 14U = Kick 1 / Run-Pass 2 • 8U = Pass 2 / Run 1
Mercy Rule
- 30+ point lead: running clock
- Does not revert once activated
Ejections & Discipline
- Ejection: automatic 1-game suspension
- Second offense: may result in season suspension
Authority: referee report is primary authority. NNSFL has final discretion on discipline and disputes.
8U Special Rules
- No kickoffs
- Ball starts: 30-yard line
- Punts: 35-yard punts
- Blitzing: allowed
- Fumbles: all live
- Coach on field: 1 coach on field for first two games only
