General

What is NNSFL?

NNSFL is a community-centered spring football league focused on player development, safety, discipline, and inclusion. We offer multiple formats including 7v7, Girls Flag, and Tackle.

What divisions do you offer?

Divisions typically include 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and High School (no seniors). Some formats may vary by age group.

What’s the age cutoff?

Age cutoff is August 1, 2025 for the 2026 season.

Can independent teams join?

Yes. NNSFL is built for independent teams, clubs, and associations to compete in a structured spring league environment.

Registration

How do I register a player?

Register through the Player Registration page on the website. Complete the form and pay the registration fee to secure your spot.

How do I register a team?

Teams register through the Team Registration page. Team fees vary based on format/divisions entered.

Do coaches need to register?

Yes. All coaches/staff must complete Coach/Staff registration and receive the required badge/credentials for field access.

Where can I find the official rules?

All official rules are posted on our Rules & Policies pages, including one-page PDFs for 7v7, Girls Flag, Tackle, and Game Day standards.

Is running allowed in 7v7?

No. NNSFL 7v7 is designed as a passing format. See the 7v7 rules page for full details.

How does Girls Flag work by age?

Typically: 8U–12U plays 5v5, and 14U & HS plays 7v7. See the Girls Flag rules for full details.

Is there a mercy rule?

Yes. Mercy/running clock rules apply depending on format. See the rules and the Game Day Quick Guide for exact details.

Game Day

What does the home team provide?

Home team responsibilities typically include: regulation field, required officials, and EMT/First Responder support (per league standards).

What does the away team provide?

Away team responsibilities typically include: chain gang support (per league standards).

What causes a forfeit?

Common reasons include missing officials after the grace period, missing EMT, unsafe or unavailable field, failure to check in on time, or a bench-clearing incident.

Discipline & Conduct

What is NNSFL’s zero tolerance policy?

Fighting results in ejection. Repeat offenses can lead to suspension or league removal. Bench-clearing incidents can result in team ejection.
